“Teacher Bananaaaa” is an installation of a short comic book, a 3D model and a short stop motion video. It has been exhibited as a part of LASALLE SHOW 2023. The artwork is inspired by my experiment I had when I interned as an art teacher. The comic book is a series of stories
that were told by four to six years kids. I am fascinated by the unique way in which they see and think about the world and how their simple drawings and imaginative stories can hold profound meaning.

Through my work, I hope to evoke the essence of childhood, where anything is possible, and there are no boundaries or right and wrong color. Bringing my audience into this children’s world, where listening to their stories and conversation is a delightful escape from reality is my goal. Each character is hand drawn with gouache on watercolor paper and designed base on my students.The choice of color is calculated as well as the format of the comic book. Using a vibrant color palette is to represent the colorful world in children‘s imagination and choosing lotus fold book because of its unique reading sequences that can show how children think, where stories do not necessarily follow an order or making sense. The the 3D model classroom and a stop motion video come from the idea of bringing comics to life and also providing the audiences with an immersive experience of the places where everything happened. In conclusion, I hope to preserve and share the our and imaginative spirit of childhood,
